The Rx.com Mod Team has created this Service Play sub-forum in order to supply an area for Rx Service Play Posters to expand upon their posting topics without creating a logjam in the main forum where the three principle threads are maintained..

Posters can track services here if they care to but we will need any trackers to do so in an accurate and civil manner. We did not create this area for posters to ridicule or bash any services..

You can also discuss who is hot and who is not. The general state of the pay for plays industry and any other subject or topic related to service plays.

You can also create individual threads about specific services and discuss them freely but civilly. Again bashing and abusive treatment of any services will not be tolerated.

Please remember, this forum is not here for regular posters who cap their own games to post ther daily plays. Please use our individual sport forums to post your plays. Professional cappers (those that sell plays) must remain in the Site Promotion Forum.

The Rx.com will not tolerate posters that post false records of any services they track. Please be truthful if you decide to track a particular service.

Lastly The Rx Moderators are appealing to you our everyday posters to report any promotional threads or posts that are made by services or individual touts. No links or contact information to an individual service will be allowed. Just the name of the service. Please report any threads or posts that are promotional attempts by services and touts to use this forum to promote themselves..

Posters can easily report a promotional post by using the triangular Report-a-Post Icon at the bottom left of all post boxes. The poster name of any poster who reports a post that is out of line will be kept strictly confidential.

I will leave this thread open for a month to take questions and do my best to answer them. I will check in daily but am off on Wednesday and Thursday.

I hope this additional Service Play Forum will satisfy those posters that would like to widen the scope of topics relating to service plays and the industry in general to have their own threads. Mods will be liberal as possible regarding topics but this forum was specifically created to allow you more freedom to express your ideas regarding service plays and related subject matter. No off topic threads will be allowed.

Thank you, wilheim

Hot Lines: Today's best MLB bets

Philadelphia Phillies at Boston Red Sox (-155, 10)

There has been more excitement among Phillies fans than in the team’s lineup these days.

Between people running out onto the field and being Tasered, to purposely puking on little girls, to toddlers taking swigs out of beer bottles, it’s a good thing the Philadelphia faithful have a lot to offer because fans surely aren’t getting their kicks watching the offense.

After getting blanked by Florida Thursday, the Phillies have been shut out a total of seven times this season. The slump the team’s offense has fallen in has produced an UNDER record of 15-5 in Philly’s last 20 games.

"When you don't score, you're not going to win the game," Phillies manager Charlie Manuel said. "I never thought about getting shut out that many times."

Manuel has juggled the lineup about all he can, even dropping Jayson Werth completely out of it for nearly a week. Werth returned last night and went 0-for-3.

These two offensive juggernauts can no doubt put up runs but with the way the Phillies offense is trending these days, a double-digit total is just too high. Also, the three-game series between these teams in May witnessed an average of 7.33 runs per game with two going under.

Pick: Under

Texas Rangers at Milwaukee Brewers (-110, 10)

Who would have thought a little ‘ole toe would have ignited the Rangers offense?

Ten games ago, slugger Josh Hamilton phased out the “toe tap” in his batting swing. He and Texas hitting coach Clint Hurdle have been working on it since the spring and Hamilton was finally able to break the habit.

Since making the adjustment, Hambone is hitting .436 with four homers and 15 RBIs. The lefty has driven in at least one RBI in seven straight games.

"We're swinging the bats really well over the last few weeks, doing what we're capable of doing," third baseman Michael Young said. "If we keep improving on offense, we'll be in great shape at the end of the year. We're having good at-bats, working good counts, and finding ways of putting runs across."

The Rangers posted 12 runs in each of their last two games versus Seattle and are averaging 7.4 runs per outing over a 10-game period. Texas will be without its designated hitter during interleague play on the road but should continue to roll in hitter-friendly Milwaukee.

Pick: Rangers

Streaking and Slumping Pitchers

Streaking

Brian Bannister, Kansas City Royals (6-3, 4.50 ERA)

Bannister is putting bettors’ kids through college with his recent winning streak. He’s won five straight starts, helping build 6.11 units for Royals backers. The right hander is giving up just under three earned runs per game during this stretch with 18 strikeouts and just four walks in 32.0 innings of work. In his most recent outing, Bannister went 7.1 innings, allowing only two runs on five hits in a win over the Detroit Tigers.

Cliff Lee, Seattle Mariners (4-2, 2.77 ERA)

The better Lee performance the greater the trade buzz gets. With rumors of him heading elsewhere, the former Cy Young winner is rounding into form in recent outings. Lee has not lost a start since May 16 and has been stellar in his last three trips to the mound. He’s given up a total of four earned runs on 16 combined hits while striking out 25 batters in those games. Lee will be out to erase a rough start against the Padres earlier this season, when he gave up seven earned runs on 11 hits in just 6.1 innings.

Slumping

Nick Blackburn, Minnesota Twins (6-3, 5.21 ERA)

The Twins’ right hander has lost back-to-back starts, which isn’t setting off too many alarms bells with bettors. However, when you allow 10 total runs on 20 hits in just under seven innings, you’re about as appealing as the dugout floor. Blackburn touts an ERA south of 14.00 in June and hasn’t struck out a batter since May 27.

Mark Buehrle, Chicago White Sox (3-6, 5.40 ERA)

The ChiSox lefty is adding to the trouble on the South Side of Chicago. Buehrle is 0-1 in his last two outings, allowing six runs in each appearance. He lasted only three innings in his most recent start, giving up six hits on eight hits including a home run to the Cleveland Indians. He burned through 95 pitches in that shortened start and has thrown over 200 in his last two starts despite going just over eight total innings. Against the Cubs, the southpaw is 4-4 with a 4.58 ERA in 11 starts.

Lady Luck: Today's WNBA best bets

New York Liberty at Washington Mystics (-5, 147.5)

The Liberty have lived on the road in recent weeks, playing six of their last eight games away from home including Saturday’s matchup with the Mystics in Washington.

New York will host the Atlanta Dream at MSG Friday night before making the trip to DC. This season, the Liberty are 2-3 as visitors heading into their Saturday contest but have managed to flip that number against the spread, covering in three of those outings.

New York snapped a two-game slide with an 85-70 victory at Chicago Tuesday, covering as a 6-point road underdog. The outing equaled the team’s scoring high this season, getting 31 points from star guard Cappie Pondexter, and was a relief to coach Anne Donovan, whose squad ranks 10th in scoring in the WNBA.

"Defensively we've been pretty squared away, but offensively we've been really poor," Donovan told the Associated Press. "It was good to see us come out and have a good offensive game of course, led by Cappie's phenomenal performance."

New York fell to Washington, 77-61, earlier this season but should eclipse that poor performance, in which it shot just 40 percent from the field, including going 3-for-13 from beyond the arc.

Pick: New York

Tulsa Shock at Phoenix Mercury (-10, 186.5)

The Mercury snapped one streak with a 99-88 win over the Minnesota Lynx Thursday, but another trend continued to pick up steam.

Phoenix, which ranks tops in the WNBA in scoring, picked up its first win in three games while playing over the total for the third time in the past four outings, going 3-0-1 over/under in that span.

The Mercury are averaging almost 90 points a night but have struggled on defense. They allow 91.3 point against per outing and gave up a 15-point first-quarter lead to the Lynx Thursday. On the year, Phoenix boasts a 6-2-1 over/under mark.

Tulsa can fill up the bucket as well. The Shock are averaging almost 83 points a night – fourth in the WNBA – and have an over/under record of 4-3 including topping the total in four of their past five games.

GREECE +1.74 OVER Korea Republic

Greece hasn't won a match in 2010 of any kind. Granted they have only played exhibition matches since beating Ukraine in 2009 to qualify for this World Cup. Now they’ll open up against a very tricky Korea Republic who plays a very organized team game. Like Korea, Greece, when on it's game, plays a sound team game, as they have no choice without any real superstar in the lineup. Greece will try to score one goal and than frustrate the opposition with it's stifling defensive play. Greece will rely heavily on its captain and best player Giorgios Karagounis. As he goes so does Greece. Together he and the Greeks still quite possibly have one more good run left in them. In this close match, look for the Greeks to score a narrow victory. Play: Greece +1.72 (Risking 2 units)

KICK AND PICKS

Saturday’s Best World Cup Bets

South Korea vs. Greece

Bettors have to ask themselves whether Greece’s shocking Euro championship in 2004 was a one-time fluke or if Otto Rehhagel’s side can be successful using the same defensive discipline and opportunistic counter attack.

If recent results are any indication, soccer punters should consider the magic at Euro 2004 to be a one-time deal. The Greeks lost 2-0 to Senegal and Paraguay and only managed a 2-2 draw against North Korea. Even more telling, outside of their matches in Euro 2004, Greece have lost 10 of their last 12 matches at international tournaments.

South Korea’s outlook is much brighter. They have depth and quality among their forwards with Manchester United midfielder Ji-Sung Park leading the way.

Greece’s conservative approach can sometimes bait opponents into taking silly risks but don’t expect South Korea to bite.

We like the under but not at the price most books are offering it at. Take South Korea and sprinkle a bit on the exact score at 1-0.

Pick: South Korea (+162)

Argentina vs Nigeria

All the talk around Argentina involves their inexperienced manager Diego Maradona. For all his brilliance on the pitch as a player, Maradona’s managerial talents are modest to say the least.

But an embarrassment of riches in terms of world-class players has the South American team among the favorites to win this year’s World Cup.
And with good reason. La Albiceleste boast the world’s best player Lionel Messi along with some of the top marksmen of the past soccer season - Carlos Tevez (29 goals with Manchester City), Gonzalo Higuain (29 goals with Real Madrid) and Diego Milito (30 goals with Inter).

Nigeria will cede possession and load up around the box and try their best to take away space from Argentina’s deadly group of forwards. That task became even more difficult when the Super Eagles lost Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel.

Expect Maradona to temporarily silence his critics with an impressive offensive assault against the Nigerian side.

Pick: Over 2.5 (-120)

SOCCER NEWS AND NOTES
Four Handicapping Tips To Survive World Cup Betting

The World Cup is coming. Here are four ways to maximize your profits.

1. Minimize Your Juice

The standard vig in Asia and for Asian-facing books worldwide is about five cents on sides (-105/+100) and less than 10 cents on totals. Play into these markets and you can’t get hurt.

Pass on all the bets with more juice. Swear off correct score, first goal scorer, three-way betting (no spread, just betting either team to win or bet the draw), bets on who’ll win which group, the overall winner and so on. Just ignore the noise.

If you absolutely need a bet on the outright winner, cut your juice by betting your team “to advance” out of its group and then roll your profits over into “to advance” bets in each knockout game. You'll make more money and you can bail out at any time.

2. Fade England, Play South Africa

England is the ultimate public team. The last time England won a major international tournament was back in 1966, and mostly because it was in England. This team is consistently overrated. England is one of the Top-10 teams at the tournament, but not one of the Top 4 or 5.

South Africa, on the other hand, is the host nation. The team isn’t very good, but could get a lot of help from the referees. FIFA doesn’t want to see the host country knocked out too early and noisy home crowds will give refs all the cover they need to cut South Africa critical slack. By hook or by crook, in recent times the host team always makes the second round.

3. Bet Faves Early, Dogs Late

There’s some truth to this in every sport, but the World Cup is the ultimate public betting event. Most squares want the better team, regardless of the spread. In the final half hour before the game, many books get swamped with public, favorite money. If you like the favorite, you should bet it least one day beforehand and bet three days if you can. If you like the dog, you will get the best deal by waiting as long as possible.

4. Watch The Lines And The Standings

If you see a price that’s just bizarre (like a draw at -200 or something), that match is probably fixed. This is free money and it happens in soccer often. In the World Cup, it’s most likely to happen in the last game of the Group Stage.

At least Sweden and Denmark made the 2-2 draw that screwed Italy look good at Euro 2004. In 1982, West Germany and Austria didn’t even make an attempt to hide the scam. The two countries rigged up a 1-0 West German win to qualify both teams into the next round and leave Algeria on the outside looking in. (It’s on YouTube and it’s ugly stuff.)

Take a quick look at the standings to figure out exactly what’s going on before you bet the house on a fishy price. But even if you can’t figure out why the market is behaving so weirdly, go ahead and bet the garage.

Hondo

Hondo rebounded from his setback with the Metamucils Thursday by scoring with the Pale Hose yesterday in Wrigley to lower the number on the big red deficit toteboard to 825 kessingers.

Today, he'll switch dugouts and put some gold on Silva -- 10 units on the Small Bears.
